Mr. Scott Lange, then Risk Manager for Microsoft, to honor in perpetuity the exceptional family and community contributions of his wife, established the Elizabeth Lange/Microsoft Scholarship in 1998. The scholarship is intended to recognize a member of a Gamma Iota Sigma collegiate chapter best exemplifying the personal character and values of Elizabeth Lange. Successful chapter, family and community contributions will hold a higher priority for the recipient than solely individual recognition.

Each year, local collegiate chapters are given the opportunity to nominate a member of the chapter for this scholarship. To apply, submit the Elizabeth Lange/Microsoft scholarship application accompanied by the following items to the Grand Chapter no later than February 28th by 5:00 p.m. EST.

  1. A two (2) page (or less) essay by the candidate expressing
    1. Personal beliefs about moral and character values
    2. How to establish meaningful individual objectives
    3. Importance of family and community in establishing career priorities
    4. The relationship of chapter goals to individual goals
  2. ½ page nominating statement by the collegiate chapter President citing why the nominee is deserving of this scholarship
  3. ½ page statement by the collegiate chapter Faculty Advisor nominating the student for this scholarship

The scholarship recipient will be announced, and the award check presented, at the

Annual Management Conference in the spring.
