ST. LOUIS, MO
Toby Z. Anson, President of the Zeta Beta Chapter, Gamma Iota
Sigma, located at River State University, attended the April 2-3, 1998 Gamma Iota Sigma
Annual Management Conference in Chicago. The
Conference was held in conjunction with the national professional fraternitys Board
of Trustees Annual Meeting. The Gamma Iota
Sigma Zeta Alpha Chapter at ONeill State University hosted the event. Also attending from Zeta Beta Chapter were chapter
Vice President Sue Smithers, Treasurer Walter Lee and Industry Relations Vice President
Jane Cobo. The Conference agenda included
sessions relating to public relations, fund raising, membership recruiting and chapter
management. Keynote-speaker Derek Rolly,
Chief Executive Officer of Space Laboratories, interacted with students throughout the
Conference. Zeta Beta
was presented a national award for Membership Development for their accomplishments
as a chapter during the past school year. Gamma Iota
Sigma is a member of the Professional Fraternity Association and is the national
professional fraternity for college students interested in careers in risk management,
insurance and actuarial science. There are
39 collegiate chapters of the fraternity across the country from New York to California
and Minnesota to Louisiana. Gamma Iota Sigma,
founded in 1965, is dedicated to providing a link between the business community and
students on college campuses. Grand Chapter
